Every Thursday we run a refugee drop centre where we work with the Red Cross and Boaz Trust, we provide support, accommodation and food for Manchester’s most destitute refugees.
This video will show you a bit more about Boaz Trust
St Brides church has collaborated with the Tearfund to assist the needy through medical and educational work. The church Manchester also provides spiritual guidance for the displaced to uplift their spirits and give them hope for a better future.
What is Tearfund?
Tearfund is an organisation that operates in Africa, Asia and South America – and also across Eastern Europe and the UK. It has been inspired by the example and teachings of Jesus and recognises the deep interconnection between material and spiritual needs that people have. The fund seeks to meet these needs by working through the local church partners, where the communities are fully dedicated and are filled with resourceful individuals, who wants to make a long-term difference.
One of the main projects that St Brides church is involved is Congo Crisis Appeal.
How can St Brides church assist Tearfund with this project?
Statistics display that up to 2 million people in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) are extremely vulnerable as they struggle to recover from a decade of devastating war.
As a church we can assist them to rebuild their lives by the following methods:
• Click here to donate to our DRC appeal.
• Use the following prayer points and pray for them:
o for peace to become permanent in eastern DRC
o for the leaders of DRC, rebel groups and neighbouring countries to show a new heart for restoring this shattered country
o that the UN peacekeeping force is able to play a more effective role and for a reduction in ethnic tensions
o for those affected by conflict to be able to rebuild their lives
o for those who have suffered attacks. Ask for their physical and emotional recovery
o for the thousands of women who have been raped. Pray for sensitive care to enable their physical and mental rehabilitation
o for the future of children who have lost parents and family
o for the safety and effective working of Tearfund partners and staff
o for the local church as it too rebuilds after conflict
• Circulate the prayer PowerPoint.
• Download black and white or full colour church posters and distribute among the parishioners.

As a team at St Brides we have a vision that everyone can transform their lives physically, emotionally and spiritually primarily the youth. We work closely with the Eden Network to become part of the local community and live out Christ where ever we are.
Working with the Eden network everyday we see young people start to shine and reach their full potential that God placed within them. Check out this video of 16 year old John has made the journey from zero to hero and destined for great things in the future.
